“Lectures of freedom” in memory of Olexander Kryvenko
In 2004 IRS, which had in the past organized students’ meeting with O. Kryvenko on the premises of UCU, joined the action “Freedom Lectures”, which are carried out every May in memory of this talented journalist and extraordinary person, by his friends – that is, by staff of newspaper “Postup”, the founder and editor in chief of which was Mr. Kryvenko. The initiator of the Lectures was Oksana Vynnyc’ka, Consul General of Canada in Lviv.
The Freedom Lectures are a contest, in which a Ukrainian journalist who best exhibits the values cherished by Olexander Kryvenko is awarded a prize.

Ukrainian journalist, one of the founders of “Leo society”. Took part in creation of “Memorial”, The Ukrainian language Society. Was an editor in chief of a weekly “P&C”, member of association “New literature”, vice-president of the Ukrainian writers association.
